A one-of-a-kind ceramic leaf dish inspired by the broad, sweeping form and pronounced veining of the calla lily leaf.
Each piece is individually shaped by hand, allowing the edges to curl, fold and rise in their own natural way. Layered olive, moss and deep forest-green tones move across the surface, gathering within the sculpted veins and contours to create wonderful depth and variation.
Both decorative and practical, the leaf may be used for serving olives, nuts, sweets and small accompaniments, or as a spoon rest, soap dish, jewellery tray or home for other little treasures.
Each Verdant Calla Leaf Dish is sold individually. Its shape, colouring and movement is entirely unique.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Each leaf has been individually hand-built from ceramic clay, with its central vein, radiating markings and gently folded edges shaped by hand.
Its distinctive colour and depth have been created through a layered decorative process using glaze and mineral oxide, carefully applied to emphasise the sculptural contours and natural movement of the leaf. The piece has then been kiln-fired to develop its rich botanical tones and gently reflective finish.
Because the materials respond naturally during firing, the precise flow of colour, markings and tonal variation cannot be controlled or exactly repeated.
Important handmade note and advisory
Every leaf is formed, decorated and glazed entirely by hand. Natural variations in size, shape, curvature, colour, glaze movement and surface are an intentional part of its character.
The leaves are not intended to be identical. Some may lie relatively flat, while others will have more pronounced folds, raised edges or deeper contours. Areas of mottling, speckling, glaze pooling and tonal movement are not faults, but part of the individual response of the materials during firing.
Due to the delicate, sculptural edges, each leaf should be handled with care and should not be stacked beneath heavier items. Colours may also appear slightly different depending on lighting and the screen on which they are viewed.

Care
Food safe. Handwashing only is advised to preserve the glaze and handmade finish.
Wash gently using warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads and sudden changes in temperature.
Handle the raised, curled edges carefully when washing, carrying or storing. Do not place beneath heavier tableware or expose the piece to direct heat.
